Three generations of organic viticulture
in the heart of Aglianico del Taburno
The producer
A family,
a territory,
an organic passion
Rooted in the Campanian territory for three generations, the Nifo Sarrapochiello winery is located in Ponte, in Sannio, just 10 kilometers northeast of Benevento. The estate lies at the foot of Monte Pèntime, in the heart of the Aglianico del Taburno DOCG production area, along what was the ancient Roman Via Latina.
Winemaker by passion and cultural heritage is Lorenzo Nifo Sarrapochiello, third-generation agronomist-enologist, who has chosen to combine respect for tradition with scientific innovation.

The history
Where Roman history
meet Campanian wine
The company has its roots in an 18th-century farmhouse located along the Via Latina, the ancient Roman consular road that crossed Sannio. This connection to the millenary history of the territory is the common thread of every bottle produced.
Since 1998 all grapes have been grown and treated exclusively according to the principles of certified organic agriculture Bioagricert. A choice that predates the green trend by decades: respecting the land is the only way to truly express the terroir of Taburno.
The vineyards extend between 200 and 450 meters in altitude, on clayey and calcareous soils. About 70,000 bottles per year, produced exclusively from native grape varieties: Aglianico, Falanghina, Fiano, Greco, Camaiola.
The native grape varieties
The ampelographic heritage
of Sannio
Main red
Aglianico
The king of Southern Italian grapes. It gives life to Pontius DOCG and D’Erasmo Riserva DOCG: tannic structure, notes of licorice, wild berries, and wet earth, with extraordinary longevity.
Main white
Falanghina
Symbolic grape of Campania. In the Fluusa version it expresses mineral freshness; in the Late Harvest Alenta it reaches complexity with honey, vanilla, and candied citrus.
Complementary
Fiano · Greco · Camaiola
The Fiano Anafriis and the Greco Geneta complete the organic whites. The Sakar from Camaiola (a nearly extinct local Barbera) is the everyday red: fresh, savory, very drinkable.

Where it is born

The vineyards are located in Ponte, in the province of Benevento, in the heart of the Sannio region of Campania. The territory, thanks to the influence of Mount Taburno and the natural ventilation of the hills, offers ideal conditions for organic viticulture.
